National Navigation Award Scheme (NNAS)

​​AdventureRutland can deliver and assess Navigation awards to Bronze and Silver level for the NNAS, and Bronze, Silver and Gold levels for the Young Star Navigator Award.  For more information about NNAS scheme, please visit www.nnas.co.uk.
NNAS courses are run over two days (minimum) and are graded to suit all abilities from a complete novice to those looking to move around the hills and mountains with skill and confidence. These courses cover safety and access issues in the countryside and equipment and environmental issues.
- Bronze NNAS Award – Covers navigation in the countryside using paths, tracks and other linear features, basic map interpretation and compass work is included.
From £80 per person (2 days)
- Silver NNAS Award – Covers navigation in the countryside using skills acquired at bronze level and adding skills required to navigate to features and places some distance from paths and tracks. Accurate compass work is required and an ability to use appropriate navigational techniques to go across country in some cases, eg. choosing an appropriate attack point.
From £90 per person (2 days)
- NNAS+ Award - An award designed by AdventureRutland to include addtional activities and qualifications whilst completing any NNAS course/programme.
From £120 per person (3 days)
